The honors keep piling up for OC’s best-known philanthropist. Bruno Serato, a past CNN Hero who was recently knighted by the Italian Government with its highest civilian honor, has been selected by the PrimiDieci Society as one of its Top 10 Italians/Italian Americans and will be featured in a book highlighting each of their achievements. The nonprofit PrimiDieci Society is described as “an elite organization committed to celebrating the extraordinary personal and professional contributions of Italians and Italian-Americans.” The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Italian Embassy and Italian General Consulates in the U.S support the organization.
In honor of his beloved mother, Serato founded Caterina’s Club 8 years ago with the mission that the region’s most vulnerable population ” its children — receive a hot meal before they are tucked into bed. He has fed more than 500,000 meals to date.
In addition, Serato operates the Anaheim White House, which is situated in a historic national landmark mansion dating to 1909. It offers a quixotic Italian Steak House, extensive wine list, unparalleled service and an elegant setting to create a dining experience that is timeless, remarkable and without equal.
