Manhattan Beach, Calif. (March 24, 2014) In its ninth year, Shade Hotel’s Ultimate Wine Festival is returning to Manhattan Beach on Sunday, April 6, with more than 50 notable wineries set to participate in the festivities. Every year, hundreds of wine enthusiasts descend upon the boutique hotel to enjoy wines by many of the state’s top winemakers.

Among the elite list of wineries showcasing their latest vintages are: Opus One, Ceja Vineyards, Silver Oak, Grgich Hills Estates, Trefethen, Alpha Omega, Quintessa, Trinchero, and Terra Valentine.

In addition to the wineries confirmed to attend Southern California’s premier wine tasting event, regular admission at $125 per ticket will include an elegant assortment of tray-passed hors d’oeuvres and a number of lofty auction items to bid on. Auction items range from a 50-person party under the stars on Shade’s Skydeck to a Terra Valentine package including a signed three liter bottle of wine, an exclusive vineyard tour and picnic on Spring Mountain at the Wurtele Vineyard hosted by the wine maker, and a private library tasting in their new tasting room in St. Helena.

The event will run from 3-6 p.m., with a special admission price of $200 per person for the Reserve Magnum Tasting between 2-6 p.m. A percentage of proceeds will benefit Manhattan Beach Middle School. This event is limited to 350 guests and, as in past years, is expected to sell out immediately.
