Sabor Latino, the food industry trade show, May 13-14, 2014, Pasadena Convention Center, brings together the reigning titans in Hispanic food retail, Northgate Gonzalez Market and Porto’s Bakery and Cafe.
Ranked among the top ten independent retailers nationwide, according to Supermarket News, Northgate is a powerful example of a successful Hispanic grocer. Porto’s is the fifty-year-old food phenomenon, recently ranked No. 5 on Yelp’s list of best restaurants in the country.
The “Titans of the Latino Food Industry” presentation includes a special introduction highlighting a new study on the Hispanic independent retail grocery channel by Isabel Valdes, Chairperson of the Center for Multicultural Science; on May 14, 12:30 to 2 pm. Former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa talking about the importance of the Latino food industry will kick off the luncheon program.
The show features exhibits, educational sessions, and cooking demonstrations with top chefs from Baja and Southern California.
