The Museum of the American Cocktail (MOTAC) presents “Tomas Estes: The Tequila Ambassador,” the next edition of Touring the Cocktail: MOTAC Los Angeles. The seminar will take place on Wednesday, July 23 at 6:00 PM at Guelaguetza Restaurant in Los Angeles, California.
Tomas Estes, resident Londoner, native Angeleno, acclaimed global restaurateur, co-creator of Tequila Ocho, and Mexico’s “Official Tequila Ambassador to Europe,” will lead attendees on a behind-the-scenes tour of agave and “near-agave” spirits, including tequila, mezcal, and sotol. Josh Goldman, Co-Founder of Soigne Group, a portfolio of 12 Los Angeles-area craft cocktail bars and restaurants, will create a menu of several delicious cocktails that demonstrate the featured spirits’ range and versatility. A sampling of savory specialties from the authentic Oaxacan kitchen of Koreatown’s Restaurante Guelaguetza, hailed by Pulitzer Prize-winning Los Angeles Times food critic Jonathan Gold as “the best Oaxacan restaurant in the country,” will also be included in the price of admission.
Tickets are $40 in advance (20% savings) and $50 at the door. SoFAB-MOTAC and USBG members can purchase admission at $35 (30% savings).
