Orange County is now home to TWENTY EIGHT Restaurant & Lounge,which presents a fresh, modern approach to traditional Chinese cuisine. The new Irvine restaurant brings a unique dining experience to the region with a menu of contemporary Chinese dishes that utilize local, seasonal ingredients and bold flavors.
Opening Chef & Partner Shirley Chung, best known from Season 11 of Top Chef New Orleans brought her skill for Chinese cuisine, which she presented with a modern twist at TWENTY EIGHT. Following Chef Shirley’s departure Chef Jay Lacuesta was promoted to Executive Chef. Chef Jay continues to evolve and grow the menu which now includes more meat-centric selections.
TWENTY EIGHT’s menu, which will change seasonally and incorporate daily specials, will feature the following flavorful, modern Chinese dishes year-round, including Lobster Dumpling with Consomme, House-Cured Head Cheese & Beef Tongue, Singapore-Style Chili Lobster with Hand-Cut Noodles, Steamed Local Black Cod in Banana Leaf, Slow-Braised Ox Tail, Squid Ink Hand-Cut Noodles with Uni, 8 Treasure Rice,and Tofu Panna Cotta with Red Bean Ice Cream.
TWENTY EIGHT separates itself on the county’s culinary landscape by offering a fresh, affordable approach to conventional Asian cuisine.
Proprietor, Stacie Tran is a seasoned restaurateur, who has experienced a life-long history in the hospitality industry.
In addition to their menu of modern Chinese specialties, diners can enjoy an enticing Dim Sum and Small Plates menu, a full bar with a focus on craft cocktails, and private dining options for both large and small gatherings in the new Irvine space. TWENTY EIGHT boasts a contemporary dining area with modern accents. The restaurant will feature seating in a main dining area and an indoor/outdoor Atrium Dining Room, as well as a comfortable bar and lounge. Guests are welcome for special events and wine dinners at TWENTY EIGHT. The restaurant also operates a full-service corporate catering operation.
