5-Cent Scoop Fundraiser

In honor of National Ice Cream Month, Mama’s on 39 will scoop up a single serving of Thrifty ice cream for 5 cents on Tuesday, July 15 — and patrons who donate $1 or more to benefit kids with cancer will get that scoop for FREE.

The restaurant promotion is designed to celebrate summer and support the McKenna Claire Foundation, which is working to cure pediatric brain cancer.

Mama’s on 39 serves farm-fresh American comfort foods with a culinary twist – tempting diners seeking delectable lunch, dinner fare and brunch all day Saturday and Sunday. The restaurant is also popular for its eight Thrifty ice cream flavors.

This latest fundraising endeavor continues the eatery’s goal of regularly giving back to nonprofit organizations in the area. Over the past several months, Mama’s on 39 has donated more than $50,000 to nonprofit organizations, local schools and groups through its “Give Back Days.” Through the program, Mama’s on 39 donates up to 30 percent of the designated proceeds back to groups that spend an evening at the eatery on the corner of Beach Blvd. and Atlanta Ave.

The 5-cent and free scoops will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 21022 Beach Blvd.
