Locally famous Slater’s 50/50 burgers is getting a lift into the national spotlight thanks to a feature on the premiere episode of Discovery Channel’s United States of Bacon, of the United States of Food series. Airing on July 8th, Slater’s 50/50 was commended for their originality for coming up with its famous recipe for its 50/50 burger, which is 50 percent ground beef and 50 percent ground bacon. Slater’s 50/50 had a champagne viewing party for the show at all three of its locations in San Diego, Anaheim Hills, and Huntington Beach.
“It is really exciting to be a part of this national television show celebrating bacon. Slater’s 50/50 has only been open a few short years so we are honored that Destination America sees us as being on par with some of the most famous restaurants in the country,” says Slater’s 50/50 Founder Scott Slater.
