Opening today, Stir Market-a boutique California take on the classic European food hall experience-introduces guests to a contemporary dining and retail concept. Located on Beverly Blvd. in Los Angeles, the 4,000-square-foot urban market hall and restaurant offers an abundance of seasonal choices served from multiple food counters-European Rotisserie & Expo Kitchen, Seasonal Market Salad& Sandwiches, a Wine & Snack Bar with Charcuterie and Cheese, Artisan Bakery, and Espresso Bar-where locals and visitors alike can meet, dine, and shop in one dynamic setting. A selection of epicurean takeaway fare and gourmet retail products is also available to cater to the fast-paced lifestyle of Angelenos.
The roots of Stir Market pay homage to the major food hall cities of Europe, including Paris, Milan, Madrid, Berlin, and more (represented by its ultra-modern geometric logo/map). “We’re inspired by iconic culinary/retail destinations such as Mercado de San Miguel in Madrid and Harrods in London where dining and shopping blend effortlessly,” explains Stir Market President and Co-Founder Mimi Mok, a self-professed Francophile who has spent over a decade living in southern France. “These great markets-that offer diverse eating experiences, shopping, and a sense of discovery-are as memorable as any Michelin starred restaurant. That’s was our inspiration for Stir Market, an environment where neighbors can come together for morning coffee, a meal on-the-go, sit-down dinner, and even shop for a gourmand gift.”

Design
To complete the European-inspired look, the space infuses classic European finishes with contemporary touches. Adding to the high ceilings, the team created a space which is “open, casual and interactive” and features multiple dining counters and stations, each with their own character integrated into the boutique marketplace. White subway tile with charcoal cabinetry and chalkboard style menu boards surround the Expo Kitchen; sea green glazed brick and hex tile cabinets add to the deli area; and Mallorcan style backsplash lend vibrancy to the wine display. Industrial concrete floors juxtaposed with a zinc countertop wine bar, and chandelier complete the airy design. The open dining hall featuring a 30-foot long leather banquette, a mix of marble and wood tables plus a communal table for 14. Additional seating is outdoors on the heated trellis patio planted with creeping vines, herbs, and seasonal vegetables.
