KALEIDOSCOPE ANNOUNCES THREE NEW TENANTS; COMPLETE CENTER IMPROVEMENTS IN TIME FOR SUMMER
Mission Viejo, CA, May 16, 2016 – Just in time for the busy summer season, Kaleidoscope in Mission Viejo is welcoming three new restaurants and has completed multiple center improvements.
Anchor Hitch, a contemporary seafood restaurant, will be the first restaurant to debut in Union Market Mission Viejo, a dining and retail space on the upper level of Kaleidoscope. Celebrating its grand opening on Saturday, June 4, Anchor Hitch will serve lunch and dinner daily.
Using only the finest ingredients in its handcrafted Seafood and Raw Bar creations, Anchor Hitch serves most dishes family style, to encourage table interaction. Signature dishes include House Miso Clams (fresh Manila clams, mirepoix, red potatoes and Nueske bacon), Green Curried Scallop Risotto (citrus honey-glazed Hokkaido scallops, creamy green curried risotto and chopped bell peppers) and Seared Halibut (white Pacific Halibut, parsnip puree, wild foraged mushrooms, ginger, scallions, roasted corn and charred cucumber). The restaurant also has a carefully curated bar menu of handcrafted cocktails, with unique offerings such as the Yuzu Margarita with Finger Lime Caviar (Blanco tequila, yuzu and agave) and Parsnip Pearade (pear brandy, fresh parsnip juice, lime juice and pear bitters), along with wine, Champagne and an array of local craft beers.
Anchor Hitch will be open Sunday through Wednesday from 11 am to 10 pm, and Thursday through Saturday from 11 am until midnight. The restaurant is also completing a private dining room with seating for 20, which will be available this summer. For more information, please visit http://www.eatanchorhitch.com
“We are excited to open at Union Market Mission Viejo in Kaleidoscope,” said Michael Pham, Executive Chef and partner of Anchor Hitch. “The center has a great demographic and is undergoing a rejuvenation process with Union Market and the other new tenants coming in. South County is the perfect place for us to launch our restaurant.”
In late June, Tacos Cancun will bring its third Orange County location to Kaleidoscope. Tacos Cancun takes a healthy approach to authentic Mexican food, including numerous vegan and vegetarian options using meat substitutes and dairy-free alternatives. The menu also features traditional Mexican plates from generations-old family recipes, such as Carne Asada, a Machaca Burrito, homemade flan and more. Tacos Cancun at Kaleidoscope will also feature its popular Taco Bar Buffet on Tuesdays, as well as serve beer and wine.
The casual restaurant will offer dine-in, take-out and catering Sunday through Thursday from 10 am to 9 pm, and Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 10 pm. Tacos Cancun will be located on the upper level of Kaleidoscope next to Regal Cinemas.
Panini Café, a popular and fast-growing concept in Los Angeles and Orange County, will open in late 2017 next to Burke Williams Spa in a new space off Crown Valley Parkway. Known for its fresh and Mediterranean-inspired menu, Panini Café will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. The breakfast menu offers eggs, omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, French toast, espresso drinks and more. Lunch and dinner items include grilled panini sandwiches, kabobs with a choice of grilled chicken, filet, lamb or fish skewered with tomatoes and peppers, salads, and an array of Mediterranean appetizers. Panini Café will also serve select beer and wine.
Additional casual restaurants set to open this summer at Union Market Mission Viejo include:
– Portola Coffee Roasters, a specialty coffee bar that was recently honored as Roaster of the Year 2015
– Milk Box, a healthy, playful and premium brand bringing organic ingredients to milk teas, along with boba and desserts
