Fans and followers of LA’s diverse and delicious food and drink scene will be flocking to the amazing and unique location of the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens for the 5th annual Taste of the Eastside on Sunday, May 31st.

Last year the move to The Los Angeles River Center and Gardens gave the festival a new feel from its previous location, Barnsdall Park. The Los Angeles River Center and Gardens, a stunning mission-style villa with lush landscaping, soothing fountains and meandering, tiled patios, provides a breathtaking backdrop for Southern California foodies to sample some delicious offerings from some of LA’s hottest purveyors of food and drink. The lovely grounds are home to several non-profit organizations that aim to revitalize the Los Angeles River and promote sustainable living.

From the emerging to the established, over 30 restaurants and food specialists will be on hand to represent the glorious gamut of the Eastside food and drink scene. Groundbreaking and established restaurants from the areas of Atwater, Silver Lake, Echo Park, and Los Feliz will be serving delectable edibles. Among them: Home to the most coveted oysters in Los Angeles, L & E Oyster Bar, modern Mexican cuisine, Malo , and that classy neighborhood joint, Little Dom’s.

Taste of the Eastside would not be complete without flights from the region’s finest, boutique wine merchants, Silver Lake Wines. New to this year’s festival will be a lush beer garden hosted by The Greyhound Bar & Grillwhere there will be delicious beer flowing from local brewers. KCRW DJ favorites Raul Campos and Garth Trinidad compliment the cutting edge cuisine treats with awesome sets for music lovers of all types as well as live music from band Podunk Poets and Redd Carter.

Rose Scharlin Cooperative Nursery School, LA’s oldest co-op for kids, is the primary beneficiary and organizer of the event. All proceeds from Taste of the Eastside will be donated to highly-deserving local organizations, including Create LA. Not only is this a wonderful and fun day of delicious bites and spirits in a beautiful location but it is for a great cause!
