Grand Cochon, the epic finale to the 10-city touring culinary competition, crowned its King of Porc at the Viceroy Snowmass during the week of the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen this past Saturday evening, June 20th. The heritage pork event brought together the ten winning chefs of the regional competitions and ten pigs for a nose-to-tail culinary showdown to celebrate family farming. More than 30 dishes were served to the sold-out crowd of more than 600 pork-loving epicureans and 20 celebrity judges who voted for their favorite bites, including Andrew Zimmern, The Potash Twins, Laura Werlin, Mike Isabella, Adrianne Calvo, Tyler Florence, Cristiano Creminelli and host Chef Will Nolan of Viceroy Snowmass.
Together they crowned Chef Thomas Boemer the King of Porc. Amongst top prizes, the winner walked away with a 4-day wine experience in Rioja, Spain’s most prominent wine region, his kitchen countertops will be resurfaced with Wilsonart® Quartz, a remarkable, beautifully engineered stone material from a leading countertop manufacturer, plus an amazing set of gifts from Williams-Sonoma and Butcher & Baker.
