Great Taste Magazine 2007 May Issue features Chef Ramel Rios and culinary news, tips, recommendations and recipes from Orange County restaurant chefs.
Marketing is an integral part of bringing in customers to a restaurant. Of course word of mouth helps but there is nothing like the reach of certain marketing tools. In this issue of Great Taste we look at some of those tools and how they can help you. Most are easy and free to use so why not take advantage?
Our Feature Chef this month is Chef Ramel Rios of Gordon James Grill in San Clemente. Chef Rios got his start in the business as a dishwasher, working his way up to Executive Chef in just 10 years. He kindly regales us with the story of how he realized his dream of becoming a Chef after starting his career at Luciana’s Ristorante in Dana Point.
Don Ramon, owner of Don Ramon’s Mexican Restaurant in Huntington Beach, is another man who worked hard to build his career from the ground up. He started his restaurant with his family in 1995 and together they have built it into a very successful Huntington Beach staple, serving authentic Mexican food with a family friendly atmosphere.
However, Don Ramon’s isn’t the only great Latin restaurant in Orange County. In Sur Le Menu we offer up some of the best Latin fare, from fresh ceviche at Gabbi’s Mexican Kitchen to Mole Negro Tamales at El Fortin, there is plenty authentic food to enjoy even on this side of the border. Keep the Latin flavors going with our take on Latin libations. We have recipes for Mexican and Spanish cocktails that are sure to be a hit all year long.
In Operations we focus on life-saving procedures being adopted by restaurants all over the world and in Front of the House we have a few marketing rules that apply to all restaurants, given to us by Marketing Director Laurel Rosen, one of the most successful marketing directors in Southern California.
