(Music, Pageantry, Art, Dancing, Fashion & Food Among Weekend Highlights)
The public is invited to explore the arts and culture of China, Japan, Korea, India, Philippines, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Cambodia as the Asian Pacific Festival takes root at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina in Newport Beach. Among the festivities are a wide range of live native musical performances, cultural exhibits, a hip-hop competition, children’s art contest and authentic Asian foods from the represented countries. One of the weekend’s highlights will be the APF Scholarship Pageant complete with ethnic fashion and traditional costumes, which is intended to highlight intellect, beauty, and grace in young Asian women as they represent their communities. Adults may enjoy the Southern California Craft Beer & Wine Tasting for $45 each. Tickets purchased in advance are $5 each with kids under 6 free.
“We are excited to welcome back the Asian Pacific Festival as it is one of our most highly anticipated annual events,” said Dunes Vice President and General Manager Andrew Theodorou. “This is truly a fantastic and dynamic weekend event for all families, both Asian and non-Asian, alike. The pageantry, music, fashion and food representing each culture makes it both exciting and educational.”
