On Christmas Eve (Saturday, December 24), LA’s modern American eatery, Plan Check Kitchen + Bar (Sawtelle, Fairfax, Downtown, Santa Monica), will serve an exclusive prix-fixe menu ($20) of Mexican-inspired comfort classics, each featuring red and green ingredients in celebration of the festive holiday. Please see below for a list of dishes:
• Mini Beef Cheek Tamales – green chile and queso fresco
• Mole Rojo – braised pork ribs
• Chicken Enchiladas – New Mexico Christmas red salsa and crema
• Mexican “Red” Rice – roasted corn and peas & charro black beans
• Cinnamon Banuelos – horchata ice cream and goat’s milk cajeta
