Second Annual Charity Event
Shuck it Challenge
Come cheer on your local firemen, policemen, and lifeguards in an oyster eating challenge!
Ways & Means Oyster House is pleased to announce our second annual oyster-eating contest to benefit local charities. This event boasts fierce competition coupled with a good cause, as $3 from every oyster eaten will be donated to the winning team’s charity of choice. Team members from Huntington Beach Police Department, Fire Department and local lifeguards will be given 60 seconds to eat as many oysters as they can, while spectators cheer on their favorite team. $5 from each spectator ticket will be donated to the participating charities.
This event was developed by founders, Parnell and Jennifer Delcham and Dena Mathe, who feel strongly about giving back to the community. Ways & Means has a large emphasis on community work that focuses on saving our oceans, supporting the humane treatment of animals, autism, and cancer research.
Attendees who purchase a ticket will be treated to a special lunch complemented with their choice of soda or iced tea. Guests also have the option of enjoying bottomless Ways & Means Blonde beer for an additional $10, $5 of which will be donated to participating charities.
