Ways & Means Oyster House is pleased to announce the second annual Shuck-It Oyster Challenge, an oyster-eating contest to benefit local charities on Tuesday, January 17 at 11 a.m. The event boasts fierce competition coupled with a good cause, as $3 from every oyster eaten will be donated to the winning team’s charity of choice. Team members from the Huntington Beach Police Department, Fire Department and local lifeguards will be given 60 seconds to eat as many oysters as they can, while spectators cheer on their favorite team. Tickets to the event are $20 per person, and $5 of each ticket will be donated to the participating charities. The event will take place at Ways & Means, which is located at 21022 PCH, Huntington Beach CA 92648.
“The Ways & Means team is extremely dedicated to giving back to our community and we’re very excited to launch this fundraiser for the second year in a row,” said Director of Operations Dan Schneider. “This is such a fun event and we’re extremely fortunate to be able to bring the community together for a great cause.”
This event was developed by founders, Parnell and Jennifer Delcham and Dena Mathe, who feel strongly about giving back to the community. Ways & Means has a large emphasis on community work that focuses on saving our oceans, supporting the humane treatment of animals, autism, and cancer research.
Attendees who purchase a ticket will be treated to a special lunch complemented with their choice of soda or iced tea. Guests also have the option of enjoying bottomless Ways & Means Blonde beer for an additional $10, $5 of which will be donated to participating charities.
