Dinner with Lek of Elephant Nature Park
Thai District is honored to host a fundraiser for Sangdeaun Lek Chailert founder of Elephant Nature Park. She will be the guest speaker at this special event. The Elephant Nature Park was founded by Lek in the 1990s as a sanctuary and rescue center for abused Asian Elephants who have for decades suffered abuse and exploitation from the logging, adventure tourists circus and street begging industries. Elephant Nature Park is a leading and worldwide recognized, advocating for the welfare of Asian Elephants.
Lek was invited by Hillary Clinton to Washington, DC in 2010 to honor her for Heroes of Global Conservation. Time Magazine 2005 also named Lek as one of Asia’s Heroes in her conservation work. Ford Foundation Hero of the Planet in 2001. Lek’s work was recognized by the Humane Society in the US with the Genesis Award in 2003. Several documentaries about Lek and ENP produced by National Geographic, Discovery, Animal Planet and BBC. Lek is internationally known and loved. You’re not going to want to miss dinner with Lek.
