Last week on October 23, 2018, Howard CDM craned in the 14 shipping containers that will make up SteelCraft Bellflower, an outdoor urban eatery in the City of Bellflower’s Downtown core.

Howard CDM, the developer and builder, in partnership with SteelCraft and the City of Bellflower enjoyed greeting the tenant partners and local residents as the prefabricated containers were craned onto their permanent homes at 16500 Bellflower Boulevard.

“Now that containers have been installed, the community can see that Bellflower is moving in the right direction. SteelCraft Bellflower’s unique food vendors will bring visitors to town and create more development interest throughout the city,” Mayor Ray Dunton shared. “We’re starting to see that Bellflower is definitely back!”

The 12,500 SF development will bring nine new businesses to Bellflower: five food offerings, craft beer, wine, coffee and dessert. The tenant lineup, announced at the groundbreaking ceremony, includes Ten Mile Brewing, Solid Coffee Roasters, Cassidy’s Corner, The Standing Room, Pholanthropy, Fritzi Coop and Long Beach Creamery.

“Our tenants are incredible. Many of them have been with us for over a year working through planning and design. Placing the containers is a culmination of all of our efforts so far and the beginning of something really special,” said SteelCraft founder, Kimberly Gros. Martin D. Howard, president and CEO of Howard CDM shared, “Keep an eye out for the monumental tower and parabolic shade structure that will start to go up soon.”

SteelCraft Bellflower will offer nearly twice the seating capacity of SteelCraft Long Beach with a larger stage for live entertainment, special events unique to the Bellflower community, and design elements that pay homage to Bellflower’s rich farming and dairy roots.

Howard continued, “We’re excited for the community to see SteelCraft Bellflower’s unique personality start to take shape.”

SteelCraft Bellflower is slated for grand opening in early 2019.
