WHAT

Get in the holiday spirit at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort on Friday, November 23 with the grand opening of the Christmas Tree Lot beginning at 10 a.m., and stay for the 28th annual Lighting of The Bay kick-off celebration beginning at 3 p.m.

As one of Southern California’s premier locations to pick top-of-the-line pines, Newport Dunes receives their trees from Salem Oregon in weekly deliveries through December 23. The best looking, healthiest trees are handpicked and delivered within 16 hours of being cut, given a second cut upon arrival and immediately placed in stands with fresh water. Sip complimentary coffee and hot chocolate while browsing hundreds of beautiful trees, as well as fresh wreaths, garlands, and poinsettias. Christmas accessories will also be for sale, such as ornaments, hats, mistletoe, cards, lights, and more. Newport Dunes Tree Lot offers delivery as well as free parking for Christmas tree shoppers. Santa will be visiting the tree lot on November 24 and 25 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Additionally, join Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort on Friday, November 23 from 3-8 p.m. for the 28th annual Lighting of the Bay kick-off celebration featuring a full schedule of seasonal festivities to welcome the holiday season. Families will enjoy live chorale performances, cookie decorating, holiday crafts and train rides. Santa will take center stage at dusk as he arrives by stand-up paddleboard and flips the magic switch to illuminate the bay with more than 50 electric Christmas trees and holiday decorations. An outdoor screening of a holiday movie will wrap up the evening with hot cocoa and cider. Additional food and bar concessions will be available for purchase.
