Cultivation Kitchen, a new fresh fast-casual, housed in a greenhouse and built on the importance of mindful eating by offering dishes made only with picked-with-a-purpose ingredients, is now open at Farmers Park (350 S. Anaheim Blvd), a two-acre park and vibrant community gathering place adjacent to the Anaheim Packing District. On Friday, May 17 from 4 – 6 p.m., the restaurant will celebrate its Grand Opening by hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce and social hour with its California-based partners and farmers.
“This concept has been a long time coming; we’ve been developing recipes, researching the demands and habits of Orange County diners, meeting with local farmers, and building out the star of the show, the greenhouse space, all for many months now,” said Dale LaFlam, founder of Cultivation Kitchen. “We’re excited to see it come into fruition and eager to positively impact our community by not only serving healthy food and drinks, but by also providing a space where people can feel connected to one another, which leads us to our ultimate goal: cultivating the human connection while giving back to our environment.”
The concept was created with a mission to impact the community through fresh food and ingredients from local partners who also practice clean and sustainable methods. Cultivation Kitchen serves healthy and organic options that are accommodating to all diets including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. Between two menus, “Good Morning Sunshine” and “It’s a Beautiful Day” all day parts are covered including breakfast, brunch, lunch, light bites, and dinner. The average brunch, lunch, or dinner item will range from $10 to $12, and in a larger effort to practice sustainability and be eco-friendly, Cultivation Kitchen will be cashless and only accept payments from all the major credit cards. All service is built into the menu prices at Cultivation Kitchen, therefore the staff does not accept tips, and any gratuity left behind by guests will be generously donated to local charities.
The rounded beverage program showcases the eatery’s commitment to sourcing all beverages locally including loose-leaf tea from Los Angeles-based Art of Tea, bottled and tap kombucha from San Diego-based Bambucha, and Cultivation-branded coffee roasted in Los Angeles, featuring a CK house-blend and single origin options sourced from Ethiopia, Colombia, Brazil, and Sumatra – all fair trade and micro lot farms. Guests can also enjoy Beachwood Brew on tap, a variety of California craft canned beers, and varietals of organic wines all from biodynamic wineries.
Cultivation Kitchen’s modern yet rustic greenhouse was designed by award-winning firm Olson Kundig, which combined natural elements of the earth with urban architectural styles. The interior is an open space, eliminating barriers between guests and employees. Details like the Modbar Espresso machine, which is installed underneath the counter to allow the barista and guest to interact easily, and kombucha and beer tap, reinforce this notion. Studded with olive trees and bordered with fresh produce along the fenceline, the outdoor patio area will contain additional seating for both small and large parties, a bocce ball court, and three fire pits with lounge chairs and benches. Other unique touches include a shovel as the door handle, live-edge communal tables, and both standard and lounge style dining options.
Additionally, the fresh fast casual has partnered with Shadetree Partnership, a nonprofit tree-planting organization, to offset its electricity and gas carbon footprint. The team will also donate 1% of the eatery’s net profit to local charities annually.
Currently, Cultivation Kitchen is open from Monday – Friday 5 – 10 p.m. and Saturday – Sunday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Beginning May 17 the eatery will be open Sunday – Thursday from 7 a.m. – 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. – 12 a.m. The restaurant is located at 350 S Anaheim Blvd. For more information, please visit www.CultivationKitchen.com
