Four-Course, Prix Fixe Valentine’s Day Dinner

Valentine’s Day at Fuego features a romantic four-course dinner with optional wine pairing throughout the meal on Thursday, February 14 from 5-9 p.m. Love-struck couples can also stay the night or the weekend with the “Be Maya Valentine” offer at Hotel Maya.

Valentine’s Day guests will also enjoy the live sounds of acoustic guitarist Andy Abad from 5:30-9:30 p.m.

Fuego, the modern, Latin-infused indoor-outdoor restaurant and lounge, offers a unique seaside setting featuring 13-foot-tall glass walls that fully retract with seating inside and on the patio area. Fuego’s stunning open-air views include the Pacific Ocean, Long Beach skyline and Queen Mary.

Hotel Maya’s “Be Maya Valentine” room package includes a complimentary water view guestroom upgrade, a s’mores kit and complimentary champagne breakfast for two in Fuego. For Valentine’s Day Dinner, Executive Chef Victor Juarez has prepared a four-course meal that begins with a choice of Silky Lobster Bisque laced with Hennessy’s cognac, Chantilly chive cream and morsels of lobster meat; can be paired with Haras de Pirque, Chardonnay, Chile; or Burrata Tomato Salad with vine ripe tomatoes, truffle oil, fresh mozzarella, arugula, aged balsamic gastrique and grilled crostini; can be paired with Paco & Lola, Rias Baixas, Albariño, Spain.

A lovely second course is a choice of Oxtail Tamale with stone-ground masa, guajillo braised oxtail, sofrito, escabeche and cashew crema, along with vegetarian option upon request; may be paired with Smoke Tree, Pinot Noir, California; or Caramelized Scallops with pan-seared jumbo sea scallops, avocado sauce, arugula gordo beans, chorizo, and Oaxacan chili oil; can be paired with Ferrari-Carano, Sauvignon Blanc, California.

The Valentine’s Day Dinner entree includes the choice of Pepper Crusted Wagyu Beef, a char crusted filet mignon with whisky peppercorn sauce, heirloom cauliflower, Brussels sprout petals and Peruvian potato purée; can be paired with Justin, Cabernet Sauvignon, Paso Robles; Duck Mole with Maple Leaf Farm duck breast, Oaxacan mole, epazote calabacitas almonds, chiles, chocolate, Mexican crema and sesame seeds; can be paired with Bella Glos, Pinot Noir, Santa Maria Valley; Baja Striped Bass with chipotle black bean sauce, avocado lobster chimichurri, grilled cactus and roasted jalapeño crema; can be paired with Duckhorn, Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley; or White Truffle Risotto with crème fraîche, parmigiano reggiano cheese, spinach kale, black trumpet mushrooms and pea coulis; may be paired with Cakebread, Chardonnay, Napa Valley.

Fuego’s sweetheart dessert is Chocolate Caramel Cake with chocolate brown butter cake, caramel, sea salt, chocolate buttercream and caramelized rice krispies; may be paired with Sandeman, Ruby Port, Portugal.

Fuego will also feature a special Valentine’s Sunday Brunch on February 17 that begins with a refreshing complimentary drink of House Champagne or Mimosa. Guests then select a delicious entrée from the server, while indulging in an endless feast of the Chef’s Selection of Salads, Fuego Ceviches, Fuego Taco Station and delicious Desserts. Fuego Sunday Brunch is $45 for adults and $18.50, sans entree, for children under 12. Kids 3 and under feast for free.
