Roti, the “other Indian bread,” and its traditional range of sweet and savory accompaniments, is an aspect of India’s cuisine not well known outside of the country. On Saturday, June 1, join LA’s Pacific Food & Beverage Museum in welcoming culinary author and Indian food expert Nandita Godbole. Learn how regional and seasonal differences alter bread recipes and flavors, how nuances of techniques can create different kinds of bread from the same dough, and how to make roti at home. After the program, Nandita will share samples of her dishes prepared with fresh fare from Melissa’s Produce and sign copies of her several books, including her latest, Roti: 40 Classic Indian Breads & Sides.
