Prego Ristorante announces new Seafood Season Menu, Italian style, available September 23rd – October 6th.
Authentic Italian Seafood Feast Menu available to the public September 23rd – October 6th. Inspired by Chef Ugo Allesina’s deep roots in Italy and Italian cooking. The South of Italy is known for its coastal cuisine, fish and seafood with a more rustic flair than its Northern parts.
Fish in Italy is served in a variety of ways but mostly fish is grilled and sometimes served whole or even brought to your table raw. You will also see that there are more types of shrimp or gamberi in Italy than in the US and are most often served in the shell with the head still on which has been thought to add more flavor. Clams and mussels, vongole and cozze are also served in their shells or as an appetizer. In Italy, clams are often served in a simple white wine sauce, while mussels are often prepared in a slightly spicy tomato sauce.
Prego has created a menu to reflect the style of seafood cooking in Italy with items such as Zuppa di Pesce Manila Clams, mussels, scallops, shrimp, calamari, in a light tomato, garlic, basil broth, paired with Chianti, Banfi Reserve and Cozze Del Marinaio and Black Santa Barbara Mussels, white wine, garlic, clam juice, dash of chili flakes, served with crisp Tuscan bread, paired with White Sangria.
