David Slay, the acclaimed chef and restauranteur behind SLAY Steak + Fish House, Park Ave Dining and il garage ristorante, is opening a new Italian-themed restaurant in November in the space previously occupied by local Greek favorite Jimmy’s Kouzina, which recently closed its doors after 35 years.
Slay’s new Italian venture will leverage some of the farm-to-table flair of SLAY Steak + Fish House, which uses locally sourced vegetables and organic produce grown directly in the Slay Estate garden. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay under the Slay and Slayer brands, from the Slay Estate & Vineyard, also will be available at the new restaurant. In addition, the restaurant will be another family affair for Slay, who is a local Manhattan Beach resident and whose wife Gale and son David Slay Jr. will be partners in the restaurant.
“We are very excited to bring our brand of fresh, authentic, and innovative Italian cuisine to Manhattan Beach,” notes David Slay. “This area is our home, and we want to create yet another venue where people can feel welcomed as they enjoy fantastic food.”
