Heritage Barbecue – San Juan Capistrano – August 2020 – Just Opened

Heritage Barbecue Pitmaster Daniel Castillo announced today the opening date for his long-awaited brick and mortar restaurant. Dine-in and carry-out service will commence Saturday, August 8 at 12 PM.

Delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the restaurant was initially scheduled to open in the spring of 2020. Castillo weathered the storm by hosting sporadic online sales of his meats, allowing staff the ability to wait longer than initially anticipated for the opening.

“The restaurant has been a long time coming,” said owner and pitmaster Castillo. “From our first family events in our backyard to the brewery pop ups, we’re excited to finally have a place that is ours. I look forward to introducing many people to our food, as well as welcome those that enjoyed our brewery pop ups.”

Open at 3 PM Wednesday-Friday and 12 PM on Saturday and Sunday, Heritage Barbecue closes upon sell-out daily. Guests are welcome to line up as early as they like; masks are required in order to remain in line (and while not seated at a table). The restaurant’s seating is entirely outside, allowing Heritage Barbecue to operate in total compliance with current regulations.

About Heritage Barbecue: Founded in 2012 as a backyard, central-Texas style barbecue, Heritage Barbecue has grown a viral following. Years of successful brewery pop ups have led to the debut of a brick and mortar in San Juan Capistrano, one of Orange County’s most anticipated events of 2020. Heritage Barbecue sources only the highest quality meats from West Coast Prime including Pachamama pork, Duroc pork ribs, Creekstone farms brisket, and more. Menus are seasonal and market-priced and therefore change often.
