HALAL RESTAURANT KHAN SAAB REOPENS FOR OUTDOOR DINING IN DOWNTOWN FULLERTON
Award-Winning Chef Brings Desi Cuisine to SoCal with the Community in Mind
FULLERTON, CA (July 14, 2020) — Award-winning chef Imran Ali Mookhi has reopened Khan Saab Desi Craft Kitchen to diners in downtown Fullerton, offering its rave-reviewed menu for lunch and dinner daily. This eclectic eatery transformed their outdoor space into street bistro dining, complete with string lights and candles to create an ambiance that is both inviting and elevated, perfect for dining al fresco. Khan Saab guests can enjoy a 100% halal menu, featuring highly rated cuts of Australian Wagyu beef, a variety of curries, kabobs, and desserts, complemented by a craft bar menu of Desi-inspired alcohol-free mocktails.
Khan Saab’s carefully crafted dishes use high quality ingredients sourced from local vendors. Favorites include Chicken Tikka and Pomegranate Bhel Puri – authentic street food served on crackers with rice puff peanuts, vermicelli mint, tamarind chili, and garlic chutney. Guests can also opt for a selection of top-quality halal steaks, including a cut of Kiwami Boneless Ribeye, served with gunpowder mashed potatoes. In line with Desi tradition, Khan Saab offers an innovative mocktail menu. Crafted mocktails include the Smoked Nigroni with rose syrup and Palo Santo bitters, the Mango Mojito, and Peshwari Mule. This non-alcoholic bar menu also features the traditional mango-mint lassi along with lychee mimosas.
“We are so excited to welcome back the Fullerton community to experience the full Khan Saab once again, this time on our newly designed outdoor bistro patio” says Chef Ali in response to his long-awaited reopening. “Our menu has something for everyone– even a fan-favorite spin on the Sloppy Joe, called Sloppy Khan. We’re thrilled to be back sharing our Desi halal cuisine and delivering a personal, outdoor dining experience to our loyal guests.”
Since day one, Khan Saab restaurant has been heavily focused on the surrounding community. Through its “Drive Up” program, the team has spent the past three months feeding the community no-cost meals and uncooked dry goods every Friday.
