Orange County’s 10,000 restaurants, with many struggling to stay in business during the coronavirus crisis, will be eligible for help from local government.

The Orange County Supervisors launched SafeDineOC COVID-Safe Restaurant Campaign, a new program of grants with $10 million earmarked from Federal CARES Act funding to provide incentives for restaurants to follow California Department of Public Health (CDPH) guidance to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Eligible restaurants will be allotted $1,000 each to pay for cleaning supplies, employee training and PPE products.

The announcement was made at a news conference on Thursday, Aug. 6 with Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Michelle Steel, Board of Supervisors Vice Chairman Andrew Do, Lucy Dunn, President and CEO of the Orange County Business Council and others addressing the media.
