Sundried Tomato American Bistros and Catering has just opened a new Mexican-American fast-casual dining experience near its flagship restaurant in San Juan Capistrano, California. The concept offers several twists in contrast to others in the category to provide a unique experience to patrons.

Bueno Bueno Mexican Kitchen is designed to offer a culinary destination featuring contemporary Mexican cuisine in an attractive and fun environment under the theme “PANZA LLENA, CORAZON CONTENTO” (Full Belly, Happy Heart). Simple, fresh, organic Mexican food with a twist cooked in a scratch kitchen with good portions and high-quality, friendly service will add a unique experience to the areas dining scene. Liquid refreshments will include soft drinks, creative horchates and agua frescas, tequila and mescal-based craft cocktails, 12 Mexican and craft beers on draft, and wines from the Guadalupe Valley of Mexico.

A light and bright atmosphere will welcome patrons with American-Spanish pop/rock music, black steel doors and windows, and other appointments for an ambience thats a cut above the typical fast-casual environment. The venue was designed by San Clemente resident Paula Oblen, CEO of Hotelements, Inc. Bar and table seating will be available, as well as to-go service. Other features will include a tequila sipping bar and a visible fresh tortilla making station.

“Years ago we started something called the family meal in the catering kitchen at our sister Bueno Bueno Street Viewrestaurant down the street, Sundried Tomato. The meal usually takes place in the late morning, and the cuisine is almost always Mexican. We use only the freshest and highest quality ingredients, and its always a group effort,” said Managing Partner Rob Quest. “Everything is put onto a butcher block table, and whoever is around is always welcome. We noticed that vendors and sales people started to time their visits around this meal. The food is so good we always say bueno bueno. Now were very excited to launch this concept as its own restaurant and share it with everyone.”

The new restaurant is the realization of a longstanding vision of Quest and Reymundo Pinedo. Pinedo, who is creating the menu, is a partner, executive chef and 25-year veteran of Sundried. Sundried Operations Partner Saul Cruz is assisting with development of the project.

Bueno Bueno Mexican Kitchen is opened on April 11th, 2018, for daily lunch and dinner and breakfast specials on weekends at 26762 Verdugo Street in San Juan Capistrano. The location is a perfect, high-traffic spot just steps from the San Juan Capistrano train depot.

Sundried Tomato specializes in New American cuisine at reasonable prices in a relaxed and comfortable setting with restaurant locations in San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano.

UPDATE: On Wednesday, April 11th, Bueno Bueno Mexican Kitchen hosted local media and special guests from the city of San Juan Capistrano for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially welcome the new concept restaurant to the community.
