Café Rio Mexican Grill, the award-winning restaurant featuring made-from-scratch cuisine, opened at Westpark Plaza Shopping Center in December.
“Café Rio is a local favorite, and for good reason,” said Easther Liu, chief marketing officer for Irvine Company Retail Properties. “We are excited to bring their fresh, made-to-order Mexican cuisine to the neighborhoods of Irvine at Westpark Plaza Shopping Center.”
With a “no microwaves and no freezers” policy at every location, Café Rio sets the standard for fresh Mexican cuisine. Inspired by the traditional Mexican cooking found in the Rio Grande region of Northern Mexico, Southern Texas and New Mexico, the menu features a variety of customizable burritos, salads, tacos, enchiladas, tostadas and more packed with fresh ingredients, including sweet pork barbacoa, cilantro lime rice, black or pinto beans, pico de gallo, freshly scooped avocados and more. Café Rio also hand rolls its tortillas right in front of you, daily.
Café Rio has won more than 60 national awards for their made-from-scratch meals, most recently being named “Number One Mexican Restaurant in the Nation” by Sandelman and Associates.
Café Rio Mexican Grille will be located next to the Automobile Club of Southern California.
