Center 360 Just Opened!
Center 360, the newest addition to Master Chef and Founder of Patina Restaurant Group Joachim Splichal’s bicoastal collection of boutique restaurants, just opened at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa.
Serving breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday, as well as lunch and dinner during performance hours, Center 360 brings the community together as a welcoming outdoor dining space for locals and visitors alike. Greg Stillman, also the Executive Chef behind the neighboring Leatherby’s Café Rouge, has crafted a menu of Southern California fare using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, and drawing inspiration from its diverse communities.
Menu highlight include breakfast items such as the Sriracha Melt with cage-free soft scrambled eggs, chives, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, and Sriracha mayo on a warm brioche bun; elevated toasts including the Favacado Toast with avocado mash, fava beans, watermelon radish salad, shaved bonito flakes, and lemon; and a daily rotating chef’s selection of sweet and savory pastries like the Everything Croissant and Guava Cream Cheese Croissant.
A full coffee bar, featuring freshly roasted Intelligentsia coffee, is available all-day long. lunch includes a variety of crisp salads, including the Sesame-Togarashi Crusted Ahi Tuna with baby lettuce, shredded cabbages, carrots, red bell peppers, grilled scallions, pickled ginger, crispy wontons, and soy ginger vinaigrette; comforting soups, such as Chile con Carne with grass-fed beef, sea salt crema, and cave aged cheddar; as well as hearty sandwiches like The Cuban with roasted pork, glazed ham, Swiss cheese, dill pickles and mustard.
During performance hours, dinner offers an array of fresh salads, soups, and sandwiches, as well as playful entrées, such as OC Street Tacos with pork al pastor, roasted pineapple, cilantro, onion, salsa, and corn tortillas; Chickpea Falafel with pickled pink turnips, marinated cabbage, tahini sauce, and grilled flat bread; and Guinness-battered Fish + Chips served with tartar sauce and malt vinegar.
Guests can sidle up to the bar during the afternoons and evenings for seasonally-inspired specialty and classic cocktails to enjoy throughout the Argyros Plaza courtyard, like the Winter 75 with Absolut Elyx Vodka, lemon, lavender syrup, and sparkling wine and a French Margarita with blanco tequila, Yellow Chartreuse, lime, and agave. Rounding out the cocktail menu are international and domestic red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines by the glass, as well as a selection of craft beers on draft or by the bottle from local breweries like Bootlegger’s and Barley Forge, alongside other domestic and global options.
Center 360 is designed by Michael Maltzan of Los Angeles’ Michael Maltzan Architecture, Inc., and utilizes circular geometry to complement the distinct architectural features of the center’s Segerstrom Hall and Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. The restaurant is nestled just underneath a visually striking circular staircase that connects Segerstrom Hall’s terrace to the plaza below. Guests enjoy their meals al fresco, while gazing upon a stunning, artfully-designed dark grey basalt reflection pool with four 24-feet scaled water arches and Richard Serra’s breathtaking, weathered corten steel “Connector” sculpture. Oiled hardwood tables, chairs, and curvilinear benching are amidst plantings, and shaded by rosy colored umbrellas and Drake Elm trees, providing comfortable seating for guests. The focal point of Center 360 is an artistically pixilated, pink and white floral mural along the bar wall to showcase the spirits. The Argyros Plaza also incorporates a permanent performance stage next to the restaurant for hosting the campus’s year-round, free dance and music programming, community events, family activities, and much more. Free Wi-Fi is also available throughout the plaza, making it an exceptional place to dine, drink, and work outdoors.
