Eat Chow, with locations in Costa Mesa and Newport Beach, opened its third restaurant in November 2016 in downtown Santa Ana. Located on the corner of Bush and Fourth Street in the heart of downtown, the new restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and cocktails seven days a week, and will be the first location with a full bar. With seating for up to 70 guests, it will be the largest Eat Chow location.Eat Chow serves an eclectic collection of familiar dishes all “chowified” to create the complex, yet uncomplicated, Eat Chow style that is not bound by borders or a specific cuisine. With its inspiration drawing from Southern, French, Mexican, American and Cuban favorites, Eat Chow constantly adds new dishes, which are created out of inspiration and intuition rather than following trends. The popularity of the Costa Mesa restaurant, which debuted in 2008, led to the opening of the Newport Beach location in2012.
Eat Chow has achieved success and growth in the face of the “great recession,” growing pains and tragedy, chiefly among them was the passing of the original co-founder and co-owner Eric Doran in 2011. Today, COO and partner Amy Curran, who has been with the Eat Chow team since the beginning, manages operations and is heavily involved in every decision including restaurant design, staff development and business expansion. She also develops menu innovations with executive chef and partner, Brian McReynolds, who brings them to life with his culinary approach that has come to define the restaurant’s cuisine and brand.
