Orange County restaurateur Andrew Dorsey, in partnership with former Playground Chef Jeffrey Boullt, Chronic Tacos co-founder Dan Biello, and Orange County entrepreneur Mac Carlson, announced his new venture,SOCIAL Costa Mesa, which opened October 2. The chef and ingredient-focused restaurant filled the gap in Costa Mesa’s dining scene, offering a thoughtfully curated dinner menu, conscious, craft cocktails, late-night bites, and seasonal menus with locally-sourced produce and meats.

Along with Dorsey, who hasbeen an influential member of the hospitality industry in Orange County for almost a decade, Executive Chef Jeffrey Boullt tookthe helm of SOCIAL’s kitchen. Formerly the Sous Chef at Playground in Downtown Santa Ana, an OC culinary hotspot, Chef Boullt created a New American-inspired menu with locally sourced meats and produce.

SOCIAL Costa Mesa is open for nightly dinner and weekend brunch beginning on Thursday, October 2. The brunch menu offers remarkable dishes including The SOCIAL Benedict with Seared, Smoked and Confit of Pork, Pimento Cheese Biscuit, Slow Eggs, and Creole Mustard Hollandaise; Banana Fosters Pancakes with Ol’ Fashioned Buttermilk Pancakes, Caribbean Rum, Louisiana Sugar Cane Syrup, and Farmers’ Market Bananas; and Duck Confit Hash with Fall Root Vegetables, Holy Trinity, Duck Jus, and Aged Cheddar Mornay. SOCIAL’s opening mixologist team, trained by Dushan Zaric, recently named “Best Bar Mentor of 2014” by Tales of the Cocktail’s Spirited Award, includes Mike West, Alejandro Pareja, and Nick Stolte.
