SOCIAL’s new Coffee Bar, Thunderking a new coffee concept to Costa Mesa that opened October 2017 as a pop up inside SOCIAL in partnership with local coffee roasters, ThunderKing.
SOCIAL, a new-American restaurant known for artfully composed dishes inspired by global flavors, is proud to announce its partnership with Costa Mesa-based coffee company, Thunderking Brewing Co., to provide Orange County with a better buzz. Blending Thunderking’s proprietary organic cold brew coffee with SOCIAL’s exceptional craft cocktail program, the Coffee Bar will serve creative coffee drinks, caffeine-infused cocktails and a seasonally-driven food menu designed exclusively for the coffee concept. Located inside SOCIAL Costa Mesa, the Coffee Bar is scheduled to begin brewing this summer and will be open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Along with traditional hot coffee drinks, the Coffee Bar will feature Thunderking’s organic cold brew on tap. Guests can enjoy a variety of innovative caffeinated beverages that combine Thunderking’s nitro-brew with SOCIAL’s house-made syrups, cordials and bitters, each available with or without alcohol. The lineup of nitro-brew drinks will include:
· White Girl Latte: nitro cold brew, salted vanilla, cream, cinnamon (vodka optional)
· Mint Mojito: nitro cold brew, mint, lime simple syrup, cream (rum optional)
· The Better Buzz: nitro cold brew, orgeat, coconut water, salted vanilla cream (coconut rum optional)
To pair with its coffee creations, the Coffee Bar will also offer a selection of breakfast and lunch menu items curated by the culinary team at SOCIAL, such as:
· Nooks and Crannies: almond butter, house strawberry jam, toasted sourdough
· Avocado Toast: crème fraiche, confit cherry tomatoes, pea tendrils, radish, tarragon
· Breakfast Burritos:
o eggs, Oaxaca cheese, 4505 chorizo, crispy hash brown, lime crema, green salsa
o eggs, jack cheese, house fries, elote salsa, choice of bacon, sausage or jackfruit
· SOCIAL Benedict: house-made buttermilk biscuits, pulled pork, slow egg, creole mustard hollandaise
· House-made donuts:
o Thunderking coffee cream, chocolate glaze, sea salt
o mixed berry mousse, raspberry glaze
o cinnamon + sugar, horchata glaze
The Coffee Bar at SOCIAL Costa Mesa will offer full-service dining, take out and catering daily from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In addition, SOCIAL Costa Mesa has extended its “Social Hour” with specially-priced food and drinks from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m every Tuesday through Friday in the bar area.
