Yard House, which opened its very first location in Southern California along the waterfront in Downtown Long Beach, is set to open late May at 110 East Palm Avenue at First Street in  Downtown Burbank.

With several Los Angeles-area locations, including its flagship restaurant in Long Beach as well as Pasadena, Northridge, Marina del Rey, Downtown LA and Oxnard, the new Burbank location will mark the company’s 68th location.

“Our success is attributed to our humble beginnings here in Southern California,” said Yard House President Michael Kneidinger. “We’re excited to bring our concept to Burbank and its residents.  Downtown has a terrific synergy of mixed-use, and we feel Yard House will be a nice complement adding balance to a dynamic collection of restaurants, shops and entertainment.”
Next month Yard House will announce dates for its two-day hiring blitz holding open interviews where applicants can apply in-person and receive same-day interviews for the 200 positions needed to be filled.

Open daily for lunch, dinner and late-night dining, the new Yard House in Downtown Burbank  will span 12,200 square feet with a guest capacity of 624 including outside dining.  The spacious floor plan, which is lofty and open, has an industrial vibe with a mix of warm woods coupled with stainless steel accents.  A collection of original abstract and thought-provoking art by Jerome Gastaldi will grace the walls.

Yard House’s calling card is its draft beer selection, and the new Downtown Burbank location will boast130 taps including several reserved for local and regional brewers.  The beer is delivered fresh and perfectly chilled from a glass-enclosed keg room that houses hundreds of steel barrels.  It’s then transported through miles of overhead tubing which feeds into the collection of taps displayed at the center-island bar.  The keg room maintains a consistent 36-38 degrees and can house as much as 4,000 gallons of beer at any given time.  Beer is served by the half yard, traditional pint and goblet with six-pack sampler options.

Yard House is also known for its Chalkboard Series, which features a selection of small, limited-release beers from mostly craft brewers that rotate frequently keeping the selection both innovative and fresh.  These featured beers are listed on a digital chalkboard prominently displayed above the center-island bar.

The menu of American favorites includes a selection of globally inspired flavors, from salads, street tacos and grilled burgers to seafood, steak and ribs.  Guests can also enjoy an array of gluten-sensitive options plus a menu of vegetarian dishes made with gardein™, a blend of garden vegetables and protein that have the look, taste and texture of chicken.  Happy Hour, which will take place Monday-Friday from 3-6pm and Sunday-Wednesday from 10pm until closing, features select full-portion appetizers starting at $5 and beer, wine and handcrafted cocktails specials.

As with every Yard House location, music will play a pivotal role as a continuous playlist of classic rock promises to fill the space.  Each Yard House has its own distinct playlist pulling from a library of about 10,000 songs with no two locations playing the same song at the same time.

In addition, a collection of flat screen monitors viewable from nearly every seat will be strategically placed throughout the restaurant displaying the latest sporting and world events.

About Yard House

When Yard House opened in 1996 in Long Beach, California, it revolutionized the restaurant industry by creating a 250-tap draft beer system.  Its lofty design, warm wood accents, and industrial vibe with the use of steel and chrome, made it a dining destination from the start.

Twenty years and 65 restaurants later, Yard House still leads the way with great food, classic rock and a vast selection of draft beer while evolving into an award-winning dining destination known for its menu of American favorites, crafted cocktails and endless fleet of tap handles featuring the best American craft and import beers.  The exhibition kitchen creates more than 100 items made from scratch daily with quality ingredients and globally inspired flavors.  The menu reads like a road trip across America and guests can select from an array of items, including grilled burgers, gourmet salads, street tacos, steaks, seafood and house favorites.

Each Yard House has its own distinct beer list with a handful of taps reserved for local and regional brewers along with an offering of seasonal and small-batch selections as part of the rotating “Chalkboard Series.”  The glass-enclosed keg room showcases hundreds of steel barrels containing as much as 4,000 gallons of beer that flow to the center-island bar through an extensive network of tubing positioned overhead.  From there the beer is fed to the taps where it’s served ice-cold by the pint, goblet or half-yard glass container.  Yard House is also well-known for its classic rock boasting a library of 10,000 songs with each location having its own distinct playlist.  Yard House is open daily for lunch, dinner and late-night dining.
