American Tea Room offers a distinctly “American tea experience,” featuring a selection of over 200 premium, global teas carefully selected by CEO David Barenholtz.
Founded in 2003, the company has been a pillar in the Los Angeles food and beverage scene with its first shop in Beverly Hills (re-opening in early 2016 following renovations), followed by two new locations opened in fall 2015—the flagship store in downtown Los Angeles’ burgeoning Arts District and the newest store in Newport Beach’s Fashion Island. Featuring a warm and inviting atmosphere in a modern, industrial setting, the American Tea Room offers an indoor-outdoor “tea oasis” where guests can enjoy a wide variety of rare and exotic teas by the glass, a premium selection of matcha, and specialty tea drinks, prepared using state-of-the-art BKON brewers that brew a cup of tea in less than 60 seconds. All 200 teas are available for purchase in award-winning designed packaging, as well as tea ware, matcha bowls and accessories, custom glassware, and more at all of its locations and through its robust, online sales division, which ships nationally. Culinary Director Valerie Gordon of Valerie Confections offers her take on light, tea-infused savory dishes, as well as her signature pastries and confections. At all locations, an Interactive “Tea Zone” with a 46” touch screen allows guests to explore the world of tea and learn about their favorite varietals by appellation, tasting notes, and mood.

Located in the SOCO Collection, our SOCO Farmers’ Market in Costa Mesa is the perfect place to spend a Saturday afternoon. From coffee shops to pastry shops, home decor to bar ware, kids clothes to women’s fashion, the SOCO Collection is your “destination for inspiration” while the adjacent OC Mix is perfect for lounging and becoming a regular. With our farmers’ market as the anchor, your Saturdays in Costa Mesa are set!

The SoCo Certified Farmers’ Market (SoCo CFM)is locally run bySprouts of Promise Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting small farmers and healthy eating. Farmers sell only certified California grown agricultural products directly to the public every Saturday. You can find everything from seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables, local raw honey, fresh cut flowers, to cage-free eggs and pasture-raised meat. SoCo CFM also features the best of local Orange County gourmet food trucks and artisan foods such as freshly baked breads, hummus, and a variety of sweet treats. SoCo CFM was rated one of the best farmers’ markets in Orange County and featured nationally in the New York Times.
