Chef/Restaurateur Gabbi Patrick
Chef Gabbi Patrick is the Executive Chef of both Gabbi’s Mexican Kitchen in Orange and Chaak in Tustin.
The daughter of two Mexican entrepreneurial parents from Merida, Yucatan, Gabbi followed her family’s footsteps, and by the age of seventeen, she was managing two of her parents’ Los Angeles based restaurants. Her newfound love led her to pursue a culinary degree, enrolling in the culinary program at the University of California, Los Angeles. Gabbi continued her education at the prestigious Greystone Culinary Academy in Napa Valley, California.
When the opportunity presented itself, Gabbi found the perfect restaurant location situated in “Old Towne” Orange, California. The charming structure was built in the early 1900’s and was the perfect fit for Gabbi’s “Colonial” Mexican restaurant concept. With a location set, Gabbi’s opened in July of 2006.
Gabbi’s passion for her Mexican heritage, combined with her penchant for traveling, is her biggest influence, and is reflected with every dish at Gabbi’s Mexican Kitchen. Gabbi’s mission is to not only provide an unforgettable dining experience, but to also share her knowledge of the diverse regional cuisine of Mexico with her patrons.
Inspired by Executive Chef Gabbi Patrick’s Yucatecan roots, CHAAK features Mayan staples of pibil, recados, seafood, smoke, and exotic spices combined with her signature modern flare. Located in Southeastern Mexico, the Yucatan peninsula differs from other regional Mexican cuisine with Spanish, Caribbean, and Mediterranean influences, dense tropical climate, and deep roots of the native Maya culture. Experience the spirit of the Yucatan at CHAAK, opened in 2018.
