The 2nd Annual Margarita Showdown is coming to LA on Saturday, 9/5 at 2PM. Live streamed on www.MargaritaShowdown.com, the boozie competition for a good cause will be hosted by comedian Cristela Alonzo; feature musical performances intercut with margarita makers sharing their drinks and stories; and offer attendees the opportunity to drink margarita flights from the comfort of their own homes while they tune-in and vote for their favorites. Here’s what to expect:

  • THE LIVESTREAM: Hosted by comedian Cristela Alonzo, the Showdown will stream live on www.MargaritaShowdown.com and feature musical performances intercut with margarita makers sharing their drinks and stories. This year’s musical lineup includes Spoon, Chicano Batman, Questlove, Local Natives, Fred Armisen and more.
  • DRINK: This year’s margarita makers include El Carmen, El Compadre, El Condor, Gold Line, Gracias Madre, HomeState, Las Perlas and Petty Cash. Attendees who would like to participate in drinking/voting can pre-order a margarita flight package here and pick them up at HomeState Highland Park on the day of the event (ID required). Packages are $50 and include a flight of eight (8) bottled 4oz margarita tastings, two (2) limes, a garnishing salt, a HomeState metal straw, and keepsake Margarita Showdown glass.
  • THE SHOWDOWN: Throughout the streamed festival, guests will be able to vote for their favorite margarita — and the winner will be announced at the end of the program.
  • CHARITY BENEFACTOR: All proceeds from ticket sales will go to No Us Without You! and Watts Empowerment Center.
