2nd Annual Toys for Tots Drive

The Embassy Suites Temecula hotel is teaming up with the U.S. Marines to bring smiles to children's faces 
during the hotel's second annual Toys for Tots drive. On December 5th, 2014 between 6:00pm - 8:00pm, hotel 
guests and community members will enjoy festive music, a visit from Santa, a complimentary assortment of 
specialty desserts and coffees, and wine tastings from a local Temecula vineyard. The event will also 
feature a ceremonious Christmas tree lighting and raffle drawings. 

Attendees are encouraged to bring an unwrapped gift for a chance to win one of the various prizes donated by 
Temecula area businesses. Toys for Tots began in 1947 when Major Bill Hendricks, USMCR, and a group of Marine
Reservists in Los Angeles collected and distributed 5,000 toys to needy children. The idea came from Bill's 
wife, Diane, when she handcrafted a Raggedy Ann doll and asked Bill to deliver the doll to an organization 
which would give it to a needy child at Christmas. When Bill determined that no such agency existed, Diane 
told Bill that he should start one, and he did.

Embassy Suites Temecula is proud to be involved with such an amazing organization. Chas Senic, the General 
Manager of the hotel, said, "We are not in the hotel business'¦we are in the business of making memories, 
being involved with our community, and working to make a difference. Our entire staff looks forward to 
giving back and especially looks forward to the annual Toys for Tots celebration."
