Bayside Celebrates 15th Anniversary with Special Menu & a complimentary galss of Bubbly Rose.

“Everything’s Coming Up Roses” as Bayside, the critically acclaimed Newport Beach restaurant, celebrates its 15th anniversary with a number of rose-related activities (the official flower of the 15-year anniversary is the rose). In addition to the regular menu dinner guests can order from a special small plates menu, “15 for $15,” specially created for the occasion by Executive Chef Paul Gstrein. Among the featured items are Oysters & Yuzu pearls with wasabi; shellfish Cioppino with scallops, shrimp, snow crab, mussels & clams; and petit filet Mignon with peppercorn sauce, vegetables & a potato trio. Patrons will enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbly Rose to accompany their entree and celebrate the occasion. As part of the restaurant’s continuing “All That Jazz” series on Friday nights, drummer Kofi Baker, son of the legendary drummer Ginger Baker of the classic rock group Cream, will join other musicians to perform on November 14.
Bayside has earned a loyal following thanks to its diverse and ever-evolving menu of American cuisine with a global influence featuring the highest quality food products available as well as locally grown ingredients. Gstrein got his start at his family-owned and operated hotel and restaurant in the Austrian Alps — a business that dates back more than 400 years. He began his French culinary training at Villa Blanca Culinary School in Innsbruck, Austria before moving to the U.S. at 21. His culinary prowess landed him positions at numerous renowned restaurants including Spago in Beverly Hills and Charlie Trotter’s in Chicago before teaming with the Ghoukassian family, owners of Bayside and its sister, Bistango in Irvine.
Since opening its doors, Bayside has consistently earned high marks in the Zagat Guide and glowing reviews in major newspapers and magazines as well as several television programs. Gstrein’s honors include Chef of the Year by the Orange County Business Journal as well as “top chef” nods by the Los Angeles Times, OC Register, Orange Coast Mag, Coast, Riviera, OC Weekly, Where, OC Metro and others.
Bayside is located at 900 Bayside Drive in Newport Beach. For more information visit www.baysiderestaurant.com or call (949) 721-1222.
