BBQ Beer Social

Just in time for summer, award-winning TAPS Fish House & Brewery has announced a “BBQ Beer Social” for lovers of live music, smokin’ hot food and craft beers. The special afternoon of classic barbecue favorites and palate-pleasing beers will be held from 1-4 PM on Saturday, June 28 on the spacious patio at TAPS in Brea Downtown.

For $45, guests will receive five beer tickets and get their fill of beef brisket, burgers and other savory items. Liquid refreshments will include Brewmaster Victor Novak’s highly regarded beers such as Lips of an Angel (Belgian White with tart cherries), Remy Ooh-la-la (Remy with fresh blackberries); the new Orange County Ale (Cream Ale with Orange Blossom water) and Monk’s Passion (Belgian Tripel with passion fruit). Non-alcoholic options are vanilla horchata, piña-rosemary and cucumber mint aquas frescas.

The “BBQ Beer Social” will include a pie-eating contest in which TAPS will select five competitors from the crowd. Each will have a fresh pie that features the same berry non-alcoholic flavors as the specialty beers being served that day. The winner will receive “Beer for a Year” in the form of one growler of TAPS beer for each month.

“On the Carving” dishes include Nuestras Señoras carne asada, Red Ale spicy cilantro chicken with orange blossom honey, Porter Stout beef brisket, hamburgers, Lillie’s Q BBQ pork rib tips, and bacon wrapped hot dogs.

Hot sides include baked beans and charbroiled corn on the cob; cold sides include baked potato salad, pasta salad and a summertime fruit salad. Snow cones will be the featured dessert.
