PATINA CELEBRATES VALENTINE’S DAY AND THE CHINESE NEW YEAR WITH A SERIES OF EXTRAVAGANT SPECIALTY DINNERS THIS FEBRUARY
New Executive Chef Paul Lee introduces the restaurant’s first-ever, fine dining take on traditional Chinese New Year dishes with a six-course tasting menu, February 19-22
WHAT: This Valentine’s Day, guests are invited to romance their loved ones at Patina’s beautiful Walt Disney Concert Hall locale with a variety of indulgent three- ($85), four- ($105), and six-course ($160) “Love Bites” tasting menus, specialty cocktails, caviar service, gourmet cheeses, an award-winning wine list, and a complimentary “Tea for Two” takeaway of two heart-shaped chai tea bags. Guests can make reservations for the Saturday, February 14 dinner from 5-9:30 p.m., with pre-theater seating beginning 5-5:30 p.m. Patina has curated an aphrodisiac-inspired menu featuring dishes such as Kusshi Oysters with watercress coulis, kaffir-coconut cream, and coriander; Capellini Pasta with caviar, grilled celtuce, and citrus vinaigrette; and Caramelized White Chocolate Cremeux with passion fruit cream and banana sorbet. A selection of “Love Potion” cocktails includes the Kiss from a Rose with yellow chartreuse, silver tequila, honey syrup, lemon juice, and muddled raspberries, with the full dinner and drinks menu available online.
Newly announced Executive Chef Paul Lee honors his Taiwanese heritage with Patina’s inaugural Chinese New Year celebration from Thursday, February 19 to Sunday, February 22 with a $135 six-course tasting menu. Guests will receive red envelopes with a voucher for a complimentary glass of champagne when dining at the restaurant within the next 30 days, as well as opportunities to win dinner for two at Patina, one spot at an upcoming “In the Kitchen with Patina” cooking class with Chef Lee, a $1000-value Patina Restaurant Group dining tour, and tickets to the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Families can reunite and commemorate this special holiday over a luxurious meal showcasing elevated takes on traditional Chinese New Year dishes, with a strong focus on premium seafood and Asian ingredients. Lee marries Peking and French cooking techniques in dishes such as the crispy-skinned Muscovy Duck Breast with fennel, savoy cabbage, baby turnip, and sauce l’orange. Additional highlights include Imitation Shark Fin Soup with Dungeness crab and ham hock broth; Abalone with braised pork cheeks, baby bok choy, cannellini beans, and Hsao Hsing sauce; and Chocolate Namelaka with mandarin sorbet and lime puree, with the full menu available online.
