Cooking Demonstrations and Conversations

This year’s LA Times Festival of Books (2019) will take place Saturday, April 13th 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 14th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The 24th annual festival will host a variety of entertaining events featuring local, national, and international authors, musicians, entertainers, poets, and industry professionals.

Cooking Demonstrations and Conversations, Saturday, April 13th Schedule:
All events are free to attend unless otherwise stated

11:00 a.m – Cooking Demonstration Featuring Margarita Manzke, Author of “Baking at République”

12:00 p.m – Beyond the Cookbook: Stories from the World of Food – Conversation with Lucas Peterson, Jonathan Kauffman, Ted Lee. Matt Lee and Ruth Reichl (this free event requires tickets that can be purchased starting April 7th, for a small service fee)

12:30 p.m – Cooking Demonstration Featuring Alana Newhouse, Author of “The 100 Most Jewish Foods: A Highly Debatable List” with Special Guest Joshua Malina

1:00 p.m – Culinary Demonstration Featuring Chef Saul Jauregui Sharing DOLEicious Snacks for Families on the go

2:00 p.m – Cooking Demonstration Featuring Marcela Valladolid, Author of “Fiestas”

3:30 p.m – Cooking Demonstration Featuring Matt & Ted Lee, Co-Authors of “Hotbox: Inside Catering the Food World’s Riskiest Business”

There will also be a variety of Food Trucks onsite all weekend long to enjoy delicious eats, including: Green Truck, Ho-Lee Chow, The Truck Stop, Palazzolo’s Gelato, Belly Bombz, Boba Truck, VCHOS, Pupusas, Slamming Sliders, Hungry Nomad, Wise Barbeque, Jogasaki Sushi Burrito, Cousins Maine Lobster, Rice Balls of Fire, Dreamy Creations, Oaxaca On Wheels, Gourmet Genie, and Harold & Belle.
