Distiller For A Day Workshop

Led byHigh Wire Distilling Co.Founder Scott Blackwell, participants will experience first-hand a day in the life of a distiller. From “mashing in” a corn-based bourbon grain bill to distilling the same formula, attendees will learn sensory basics such as the flavor influence of various types of grain, as well as the differences in head, heart, and tail cuts. Fermentation, yeast variety, proofing, blending, barrel aging, and distilling techniques will also be discussed. Participants will enjoy a guided spirits tasting and end the day with a boxed lunch from Charleston’s Butcher & Bee.
