This week, we’re proud to bring to you one of the most recognized names in Napa Valley since 1976. which is wrecking havoc in wine country this week. Rombauer Vineyards narrowly escaped. Our hearts go out to the wineries, homes, and resorts that have been destroyed including Meadowood, Newton, Behrens, Burgess, and Chateau Boswell. Moving forward, a portion of the proceeds of our tastings will go to benefit the Napa Valley Community Disaster Relief Fund.
Duckhorn was the first American winery to pioneer luxury Merlot and continues to produce top-scoring wines year after year. Although they are famous for their Cab-Lovers’ Merlot, their Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon are equally popular. Building on this rich history, their newest release Chardonnay balances the complexity and richness of Napa Valley.
Duckhorn have been named one of the “Top 100 Wineries” in the world seven times by Wine & Spirits, and the 2014 Napa Valley Merlot Three Palms Vineyard was named #1 Wine of the Year in 2017 by Wine Spectator. The Duckhorn Wine Company has an expansive portfolio which includes Golden Eye, Paraduxx, Decoy, and Migration. Their most recent release is the Decoy Limited line, which will be featured at a future tasting.
