Los Angeles is often referred to as the second largest city in Mexico. And the availability and vibrancy of food from across Mexico’s many culinary cultures deserves some of the credit for that distinction. On Saturday, January 12, at LA’s Pacific Food & Beverage Museum, USC Professor Sarah Portnoy discusses the history of Latino cuisine in Los Angeles and how the contemporary Latino food scene sharply contrasts with urban Latino neighborhoods, where access to affordable, healthy food is a struggle. After the presentation, Sarah will sign copies of her groundbreaking book, Food, Health, and Culture in Latino Los Angeles.

During the program, enjoy fresh fare from Melissa’s Produce.
