The newest addition to downtown Santa Ana’s Artists Village, Blackmarket Bakery on Broadway, will be celebrating its Grand Opening with an all-day event and fundraiser on Saturday, February 6th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Chef/Owner Rachel Klemek will donate 15% of her sales during the event to nearby nonprofit, Isaiah House, which supplies more than 3,000 meals each week to those in need within the community. Located inside the historic Santora Building, will be sampling her award-winning, made-from-scratch baked goods – including signature cookies, mousse cakes, tarts and confections – give away cakes in an old-fashioned “Cake Walk,” serve samples of their “on tap” Craft Beer & Hard Cider and feature the band Echo Sparks (beginning at 6:30 p.m.) as she invites the community to experience her unique offerings.

“As we settle into our new Santa Ana home and get to know the community, we see a diverse demographic that really shapes this city’s downtown area. In a very short time, we have become invested in ensuring the continued positive growth of this incredible area,” explained Chef Rachel, who had her sights set on downtown Santa Ana for a few years. “We want to support those doing good in the community and Isaiah House is an organization in our neighborhood that is making a big impact by serving those who need it the most, from providing food to clothes and other necessities to those facing homelessness. Weekly, we donate bread and pastries to the great team and Isaiah House.  We hope that folks will come out to celebrate our grand opening and support a worthy local group in the process.”

Blackmarket Bakery’s Grand Opening event will be held in conjunction with the Downtown Santa Ana Art Walk, which is held the first Saturday of each month. Located within the Santora Building are numerous qalleries, which will be open during the evening, alongside artisan vendors on the 2nd Street Promenade, which will feature live music and street dancers.

Parking is available in nearby parking lots, parking structures, and metered street parking.

Blackmarket Bakery on Broadway in Santa Ana offers Pastries, Cookies, Breads, Cakes and Confections, in addition to Breakfast and Lunch daily, as well as a Happy Hour offered Monday throughFriday from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. During this time, guests can look forward to enjoying small plates to get their evening started. In the Spring, Chef Rachel will offer a Weekend Brunch featuring home-style, made-from-scratch offerings including a spin on Eggs Benedict, Oven Pancakes, and Biscuits & Gravy, inspired by Chef Rachel’s Southern upbringing.
