In 1982, Ronald Reagan was the U.S. President, “Jack & Diane” by John Cougar was a huge hit and E.T. the Extra Terrestrial was the top grossing movie. It’s also the same year the first Hamburger Stand opened its doors in Garden Grove, Calif.

To mark the occasion of serving its first hamburger 36 years ago, Hamburger Stand is offering 36-cent hamburgers on Oct. 7. The Irvine-based company says the special price is its way of thanking customers for nearly four decades of support.

The offer is good at all 13 Hamburger Stand locations in California, Arizona, Colorado, Texas and Wyoming. The celebration starts at noon on Oct. 7 and lasts until 5 p.m. Each customer can order up to five 36-cent hamburgers during this time frame.

Hamburger Stand’s original hamburger is a juicy, 100% beef patty grilled to perfection and topped with mustard, ketchup, pickle and minced onions. Beyond their namesake hamburgers, the restaurants feature Wienerschnitzel hot dogscorn dogschicken sandwicheschili cheese fries and Tastee-Freez soft-serve treats.

“We want to give back to our customers for their loyalty the past 36 years by offering this incredible deal,” said J.R. Galardi, Hamburger Stand president. “My father’s desire to create delicious burgers was why Hamburger Stand was founded and we’re thrilled to continue carrying out his vision.”
