Taking place September 11-13, this year’s San Diego festival – the largest Latin food festival in California – will draw 7,000 attendees from across the San Diego region, and the signature event, Grand Tasting Village, will feature tasting tents, cooking demos, Latin Spirits & Craft Cocktail Pavilion, VIP Playa, live music, book signings and more.
Modern-Mexican Dinner
Excitement is building in San Diego as we prepare for our signature benefit dinner, “Modern-Mexican Dinner,” which is the highlight of the festival’s fundraising activities.
For an unforgettable evening, join world renowned Mexican culinarians Richard Sandoval, Roberto Alcocer and Javier Plascencia for a spectacular “Modern-Mexican” tasting menu.
Get up and close to famedBaja winemakers, Amado Garza (Viñas de Garza), Hugo Dácosta (Aborigen) and Victor Segura (Cava Aragon 126) who will be on hand to describe their award-winning reserve varietals that will be paired throughout the courses.
At the start of the pre-dinner reception a mezcalier from Real Matlatl Mezcal will skillfully prepare its sublime Mexican spirit, served in individual jicaras that guests can take home.
- Richard Sandoval is celebrated around the world for his modern and coastal Mexican cuisine and one of the top restaurateurs with over 40 concepts spanning the globe.
- Roberto Alcocer is the Executive Chef and Owner of Malva Cocina de Baja in Ensenada.
- Javier Plascencia is chef and owner of multiple restaurants in Baja California, and Southern California.
The dinner benefits Feeding America by providing necessary funds to continue critical programs serving families in San Diego.
