Oaxaca on the Mediterranean: A Bi-Coastal Feast with The Nutrition Doctor & Convite Mezcal
PacFAB’s popular series of curated dinners returns with a cocktail reception, seven-course Mediterranean feast, and Oaxacan mezcal-pairing experience at Momed, a culinary star of Atwater Village, one of Los Angeles’s hottest “rediscovered” neighborhoods. Harvard- and Columbia-trained nutrition scientist P.K. Newby, aka The Nutrition Doctor, will share stories and her nutritional insights on the Mediterranean diet, while Arturo & Julio Palencia, sole US importers of Convite Mezcal, will pour seven single-varietal mezcals and unique mezcal blends, plus a very special dessert liqueur.
Momed, short for “modern Mediterranean,” is an homage to the kitchens of the eastern Mediterranean and North Africa, serving fresh and sophisticated interpretations of a cuisine based on a centuries-old tradition of seasonal and farm-to-table dining.
After dinner, Dr. Newby will sign copies of Food & Nutrition: What Everyone Needs to Know, her new book from Oxford University Press
Dinner is $95 for all National Food & Beverage Foundation (NatFAB), Culinary Historians of Southern California, and SoCal wine and spirits club members or $105 for non-members, and includes tax and gratuity. Space is strictly limited, and reservations are required. NatFAB membership is available to all at natfab.org/membership.
A portion of all proceeds support NatFAB, home of PacFAB, The Museum of the American Cocktail, and Southern Food & Beverage Museum. If you have any issues with the ticketing software or would prefer to make your reservation on the phone, please call us at 657.204.2478.
