Paella Wine and Beer Festival where nearly 40 local chefs will compete to win the best Paella Valenciana. We are lucky on this edition to count with Chefs like Javier Plascencia, Claudia Sandoval, Mario Medina, Flor Franco and Leo Razo to name a few. The winner will b e sent to Spain to represent the US along with 9 other countries at the World Paella Championship in Sueca, Valencia, Spain.
Tickets for this family event include paella from more than 80 different kinds of Paellas as well as wine, beer or sangria drinks from wineries and breweries from Spain, Baja and San Diego area. Executive Chef at Don Chente Bar and Grill Vicente Ortiz will be setting a record cooking the largest paella ever made in the United States, enough to feed 3,000 people.
Like a Spanish open market, there will be live entertainment including Flamenco by La Reyes Barrios, Spanish Rock by Los Duques and an Andalusian dancing horses show. Local vendors will offer tapas, sangrias, cocktails, cultural art, and much more.

With thousands expected to attend, the International Paella Wine & Beer Festival is one of the most authentic Hispanic culinary events in the United States and presents a unique opportunity for local chefs to become known internationally. Experts will judge every Paella, some of which are traveling from Spain, to weigh in on the competition.
The festival will be held at Embarcadero Marina Park South in San Diego from1:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, May 12. General Admission tickets start at $38 and include paella, wine, beer or sangria. A portion of all ticket sales will be donated to Urban Corps of San Diego, a local non-profit that helps young adults obtain a high school education and job training. Family event. Free entrance for kids under 12.
